Follow the race on online

This year’s Round Ireland Yacht Race will feature a number of innovative ways for followers of the race to stay up-to-date online.

Race Tracker

The most popular way to stay up-to-date on the progress of competitors will be through the Race Tracker. Viewers will be able to closely watch the race unfold tack by tack and replay the race at any stage.

Live Leaderboard

A live leaderboard linked to the Race Tracker will provide a corrected time view of the fleet as they make their way around the Irish coastline from Wicklow.

Boat Blogs

The Round Ireland website will feature live blogs, images and videos directly from the boats. Boats will be able to provide regular updates on their progress which will appear on the event website and will be posted live to Twitter and Facebook.

The Start

As the competitors in this year’s race jostle for position on the starting line, we will have live updates from our man-in-a-rib. Find out who won the start and made the early psychological gain towards Wicklow Head by following the race on Twitter and Facebook.

The Finish

As the boats approach Wicklow to finish the race, live updates and interviews will be posted on Twitter and Facebook. Realtime updates will tell you who has finished and who is emerging as the race leader in this year’s race.

And if that wasn’t enough, followers of the race can come on down to Wicklow Town for the race and join in the fun and festivities planned as part of the Round Ireland Sailfest 2012.
