25/4/10 - Entries are still sitting on chart tables waiting to be sent - we have 8 confirmed, with 2 Irish and the rest overseas - best guess there will be c.50 boats on the start line. Rumours of 3 or 4 Sailing School boats, Youth campaigns and Volvo 70's are doing the rounds but still no sign of definites. Wicklow SC looks like it will have 2 entries - a local group have chartered a Corby 45 to give some of our younger sailors a chance to test their wits against the elements and a 2 hander being entered by an experienced pair of successful dinghy sailors.

10/3/10 - Congratulations to Galway on being awarded the 2012 Volvo finish. Its great news for the country and also sailing - lets hope it brings more support for our event, the Round Ireland.
9/3/10 - it is now official - Wicklow Town will have a Festival to compliment the Race and hopefully it will create a mini- Galway like atmosphere for the 3 days 18/20 June 2010.
27/2/10 - A Town Festival is now almost certain to get the green light to piggy back on the race, which hopefully will help to add extra sparkle to the event. Our competitors and spectators can expect a mini-Galway type atmosphere to get them in flying form for the off. 26/2/10 - We are now up to 6 confirmed entries with a lot more positive enquiries in the system. The boats entered so far are mainly overseas - 4 UK, 1 French and 1 Irish - 3 of these are previous entrants. A charter group representing Wicklow SC is getting its plans and funding together and we hear that a youth group from the National YC are also gearing up. Word on the grapevine has it that the Green Dragon will also be on the start line and two time winner, Cavatina, is also likely to enter.
26/2/10 - One of our loyal overseas supporters has entered again - Bernard Guoys, from France, on his boat Inis Mor. Interest is growing all the time and there is plenty of club talk of several new Irish entries, including a group charter from members of Wicklow SC and a youth entry from the National YC.

Also, anyone with any Race Video(s), I would appreciate getting a copy to help with my research, please. Many Thanks, Fred Drew, President WSC.
25/1/10 - Irish Racing Organisations are making the effort to help promote the Round Ireland through special mileage and/or feeder races to help potential competitors build up the necessary qualifying miles. Check out ICRA, SCORA and ISORA for further details.
25/1/10 - All prospective entrants should check out the ISAF Offshore Special Regulations - see their checklist for basic requirements. Further information on the RORC website.
